Product Description:

GruberCare™ MR Sealer is designed as a mold sealer for glass reinforced polyester, vinyl ester, epoxy or metal molds. GruberCare™ MR Sealer is an advanced polymeric resin in an organic solvent blend. GruberCare™ MR Sealer is especially recommended for use on new molds and repaired areas on older molds.

For use in combination with the MR GP and MR HI-TEC products. It should be used to prevent styrene emission or migration from new molds and eliminate surface porosity of metallic molds. The resin both seals micro porosity and fills minor scratches on the mold surface. The result is a smooth, high gloss surface primed for GruberCare top-coat application. GruberCare™ MR Sealer is especially recommended for use on new molds and repaired areas on older molds.

Application:

Please read Material Safety Data Sheet before use.

1. If necessary, polish mold to desired level of gloss. GruberCare MR Sealer should only be applied to clean and dry mold surfaces. If a wax or silicone based release agent has been used previously, remove all traces of previous product using an solvent based cleaner, such as GruberCare WetStrip System, or any clear solvent that does not aggress mold surface, or leave a film. Mold cleaning and GruberCare MR Sealer application should be performed in a well-ventilated area.

2. Apply GruberCare MR Sealer to clean, dry cotton cloth.

3. Gently wipe over mold surface covering an area of approximately 3 sq/ft2. If a high gloss finish is NOT required, go to Step 4.

4. Vigorous rubbing or polishing is not required.

5. Repeat until mold is completely coated. Ensure each application area overlaps the last to ensure complete coverage.

6. Allow at least 15 minutes to cure between coats.

7. Repeat Steps 1-5 above for 4 coats in total.

8. Allow final film to cure for at least 30 minutes at room temperature before applying GruberCare top-coat. Allowing a longer cure or heat curing will improve film durability.

Top-coat: GruberCare MR Sealer can be used a sealer and primer for any GruberCare top-coat, e.g. MR GP or HiTec. See the specific technical data sheet for application information.

Note: The polymeric resin used in GruberCare MR Sealer reacts with moisture. Please ensure can is resealed after use. GruberCare MR Sealer is supplied ready to use, no shaking or mixing is required. Do not mix with other products or solvents.
