- Self-metering unit provides controls for improved batch mixing consistency, faster production and reduced labor costs -VALENCIA, California U.S.A., October 18, 2006 – Gruber Systems, Inc., a leading provider of molds, automation equipment and supplies for the cast polymer and other composites related industries – announced today that a new Self-Metering Ground Hopper is ready to begin shipping. The Self-Metering Ground Hopper adds a PLC (computer) controlled delivery with a color touch screen user interface for “on-demand” delivery of a pre-set batch of material. This Self-Metering Ground Hopper can now be calibrated and set to dispense specified amounts of filler into any desired mixing vessel. An optional Bulk Bag Suspender can be added to automatically supply the hopper with material. The touch-screen user interface allows users to specify a desired amount of filler, or to choose from four settable preset filler amounts. “This key enhancement to Gruber’s existing Ground Hopper line offers an easy-to-use, automated system that will save time, produce consistent batch mixes, and reduce labor costs”, stated Jim Thiessen, Vice President of Engineering at Gruber Systems. “This system offers our customers the opportunity to improve their operational efficiency, profitability and competitiveness”, concluded Thiessen.
