New Autocaster™ Ultra/PC automates production of polymer concrete matrix for cast polymer concrete manufacturing.

- Replacing manual mixing can significantly increase productivity, cut material costs, and improve quality – for increased efficiency, profitability and competitiveness -

VALENCIA, California U.S.A., October 18, 2006 – Gruber Systems, Inc., a leading provider of molds, automation equipment and supplies for the cast polymer and other composites related industries – announced today a continuous casting machine has been developed specifically for polymer concrete manufacturing.

The Autocaster™ Ultra/PC (Polymer Concrete) continuous casting machine automates the production of polymer concrete material matrix (mix) for cast polymer concrete manufacturing. This new system includes a host of technical innovations not previously available on the Autocaster™ platform. This system includes high-speed material processing of up to 100 lbs (44 kg) per minute flow rate. A resin heating system provides uniform casting temperatures to allow higher filler loading. The recipe-controlled system allows “on-the-fly” adjustments for resin, catalyst and total output.

“For the first time, this Autocaster™ Ultra/PC can provide a high speed material flow rate of 100 lbs per minute to allow for polymer concrete production – which was never before achievable”, stated Jim Thiessen, Vice President of Engineering for Gruber Systems. ”Increased material processing speed was a key requirement of our customers for this application”.

The modular architecture of the Autocaster can be upgraded and enhanced if desired with optional sub-systems for added capability and flexibility. The base system includes two filler metering systems, and one metering system each for resin, catalyst and base-color. The system can be customized with additional material metering systems as needed.

“Replacing manual mixing with this Autocaster can significantly increase productivity, cut material and labor costs, and improve casting quality”, stated John Hoskinson, President and CEO of Gruber Systems in Valencia, California.
