The  rich, multi-dimensional texture of natural slate makes it a popular material with decorators.  With the new Slate Tile Mold from Gruber Systems, manufacturers can provide this look in an infinite variety of colors, well beyond what Mother Nature has created!

Rich Atwood, owner of Creative Marble located in southern Illinois, has been experiencing a great deal of success with his Slate Tile Mold.  Although he’s only had the mold for about 4 months, he’s already cast 40-50 parts from it, mainly for use in customers’ shower installations.  He has mostly been casting the mold in natural marble, with white cast polymer over beige resin… and his customers definitely approve!

Gruber’s Director of Training, Rick Wadsworth, has been doing a lot of experimentation with the Slate Tile Mold, trying to come up with new and unique casting techniques.  One method he used involved  applying multiple layers of transparent gelcoat in several colors, then adding delicate veining.  The results were simply stunning… as attendees of the fall meeting of GWCMA held recently at Gruber Systems, who saw the resulting shower vignette in person, can attest.
The 72” x 96” Slate Tile Panel Mold consists of 6 columns of eight 12” x 12” tiles for a total of 48 separate tile sections. Castings can be cut as necessary to accommodate installation requirements.

The Slate Tile Panel can be used in a wide variety of decorative applications in addition to shower or bath enclosures.  It is also perfect for use on walls in kitchens, hallways, living areas, dining areas, as well as in hotels, motels, offices, or commercial properties.  Its use is limited only by the imagination!
